Our 3rd day of My Selangor Story 2013 started earlier than usual. It was because we wanted to see the Thai Poosam celebration in Batu Cave, and we had already known that the traffic to go the will be crazy, really crazy. Did you know, Thaipusam is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai ( usually in January or February).
We left Arenaa Star Luxury Hotel by 5.30 am to Batu Cave. On the way there, we stopped by in Warung Mamak for having our breakfast. I had some Nasi Lemak and Teh Tarik, nyam nyam..
After having a nice breakfast, we left to Batu Cave. The traffic around there begun crazy, crowded by people and vehicles. Soon when we arrived there, I was astonished with the situation. I remembered first time visiting Batu Cave on 2010, was not like this. Today is crazy. A lot of people, stuffs, vehicles, etc. Out side of Batu Cave arena, the Indians were preparing their needs.
It was awesome. They looked very serious in preparing anything. I continued walking inside the arena, and i was really surprised again. I saw billions of people were gathering in this place. Some were sitting, walking, and some other were worshiping.
This annually celebration is followed by almost most of Indian in Malaysia. Not only Indian, few Chinese were also involved in this celebration. At first, I was with Helga, a handsome and friendly blogger from Jakarta. But because of the situation was very crowded, we have separated before finally met again. I was still busy with taking photo among billions of people.
Tired but amazing. I learned many new things here. Solidarity is number one for them. The kept respecting to the people, even they were worshiping. Most tourist took the photo, including me, but the Indians didn’t say “no pictures”. I think that they were proud because other origins came to their celebration.
Well, i was tired and decided to go back to our base camp. On the way there I met Wulan, then we walked together to the base camp. I saw some friendly people were sharing the mineral waters and oranges. Some also shared the food.
After all of us were there, we left and got on the bus. The rest of us were still in Thaipusam arena. We have to wait them in the bus. After at least 20 minutes, the rest of us came and the bus moved to Golden Palm Tree Resort in Sepang. On the way there, we stopped by in food court for having lunch. I remembered we ate at Kopi Tiam that time. The food and the beverage was nice.
After eating lunch, we continued our journey to Golden Palm Tree. This “heaven” has waited for us. We can’t wait to get there too. Drove by trees, building, finally arrived at this resort. We were welcome by the manager and some other staffs, we also welcomed by the dance performance. I was really happy being here again. I remembered first time have been in Golden Palm Tree Resort in 2011.
After getting welcome party from Golden Palm Tree staffs, we were invited to enjoy and see some beautiful places in this iconic resort and spa. How has these places? Here they are.
